When reading and annotating the piece I Am Not Your Story for the second time, much like my other times rereading and annotating pieces, I got a much better understanding of the points the author was trying to get across and could clearly make decisions on my beliefs about the ideas. At first reading this I was very confused through the entire reading. The introduction of multiple experts and opinions as well as the rebuttal to all of them made it very difficult to understand the actual point that was meant to come across. Rereading for the second time I connected much better with the author and understood most of their view to the point I agreed with some, which was not the case at all during the first time reading. Clearing the fog was a big part in understanding even more of the writing which gave me the extra information and background to the whole piece. One instance of “clearing the fog” was with self-constituting which means the establing and set up of or accepted. Another one of these clearing the fog instances was the word contextualizations which means the act of putting something in perspective and understanding. Overall as always rereading and reannotating greatly helped me in understanding showing the clear importance of it in every piece.
